i love the way sun micro comes four hours after the party started and says "OK I"M HERE NOW. Let's get this party started". This is a pathetic management team that can't just put their quarterly numbers out their for scrutiny. They screwed up so bad, they have to resort to hand waving to distract attention from just how badly they have messed up. People don't buy on benchmarks, which can be easily manipulated. they buy based on relationships, comfort, easy to buy, road map. i always said sun micro had the best pr team in the business. unfortunately that hasn't translated into increased sales and stock price, although it has for increased bonus and stock options. Months ago I said this entire AMD thing was pure nonsense and it is, except of course the week they announce it to the world until the BLOGGERS find the next thing to hype to their readers. you can't have LASTING differentiation when you are using off the shelf parts and NOW ots OS. This actually marks the point of no return for sun micro because they finally realized they have to start selling products that people actually want to buy; trouble is they still HAVE to sell products that people don't want ( SPARC and SOlaris) and those bring in a lot more revenue. Let me get this straight. Sun micro selling sub $1000 servers is a GOOD THING?
