Intel to spend $345 mln to expand two chip plants

NEW YORK, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Intel Corp. (INTC.O: Quote, Profile, Research) , the world's largest microchip maker, on Thursday said it plans to spend $345 million to expand the capacity of two wafer fabrication plants, in Colorado and Massachusetts.

The plants make chips for communications and flash memory, which are used in digital music players and cameras.
