You don't understand. I didn't say the Reagan administration started the war on poverty, it didn't even engage in it. Republicans WANT poverty as is in full evidence with the Bush administration.

Republicans want the return to the gilded age where corporations and the ultrawealthy have all of the rights and all of the money and none of the risks. This is the opposite of capitalism. It doesn't even deserve to be called crony capitalism, it's pure third world style corruption.

The Republican agenda is to transfer:

wealth from the middle class who earn it to the ultrawealthy who do not

risk from the ultrawealthy down to the middle class

Have you seen the AMT? Compare that with Frist's marching orders to keep pushing on repeal of the estate tax for those passing on more than $3 million individually and $7 million as a couple. Have you seen gas prices and record BigOil profits? Compare that with the energy bill which provides welfare for BigOil.

This isn't good governance, it's incompetence and corruption. Any TRUE Republican (pre Reagan) would see that and be aghast at the thieves running the RNC.

Do you realize that Iraq reconstruction is coming to a halt because Bush has RUN OUT OF MONEY? Do you realize how absurd that is?
