Hi Brian SOES is an acronym for Small Order Execution System and is the only system individuals (without being employed by an institution) may trade for their own account directly with the market makers, thus bypassing the traditional broker. I understand there are presently 150 such firms in the US that offer access in this manner. Schmedley
