It's ironic that King George II, purporting to be from a small-government party, is going to rebuild New Orleans. Surely it's up to New Orleans people whether they rebuild or not, and how. And up to them to pay for it. If they build a house in a flood plain, in the face of hurricanes, they should not be surprised to find weather effects on their property values.

I don't see why they think I should pay taxes to King George II and he should spend my money on them. Actually, I can see why they think that. I can't see why King George II pays hands out money to them.

If my house falls over a bank [which it could well have done when we lived in Tauranga], or gets shaken down in an earthquake [which it certainly would have done in Wellington when we lived there - though the chimney wouldn't have fallen down because I pre-emptively removed it], then I don't see why the government should buy me another house. Especially a federal government in a system like the USA.

Socialist USA!
