ZAP Enters $425M Credit Agreement >ZP
5:04 PM EDT September 16, 2005

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--ZAP (ZP) said Friday it entered into an agreement Monday for a $425 million revolving line of credit, according to a regulatory filing.

The agreement, with Surge Capital II LLC, says that ZAP, a Santa Rosa, Calif.-based electric vehicle distributor, may use the credit to pay for the cost of vehicles purchased from vendors approved by Surge Capital.

To access the credit, ZAP must also have sales contracts to dealers for the vehicles and the dealers have to be approved in advance by Surge Capital.

The cost of vehicles covered under the agreement includes the purchase price, costs of conversion to meet U.S. regulatory standards and shipping costs, according to the filing.
