Sounds like you are stuck in all-or-nothing thinking.
Strange way to answer a question. Is there something wrong with asking the question "why is this a good idea?" Are you suggesting that assessing that a program is a good idea before pursuing it is all-or-nothing thinking? Yeah, I guess you could look at dividing proposals into apt vs inapt, constructive vs binary, effective vs ineffective, etc. is binary, but it's an apt, constructive, effective kind of binary, no? Or is that question too all-or-nothing for you, as well? <g>
Program proposals are supposed to meet some declared objective. Often proposals are made with the objective murky, unarticulated, assumed, or whatever. Call me old-fashioned, but I'd like to know what objective is intended to be met and whether or not that objective is desirable, then consider whether the proposal is likely to meet the objective. Here I'm still stuck trying to infer some desirable objective, which is not at all apparent to me. |
