It is not a question of comparison. It is a question of crossing a line. Anything beyond that line is deplorable.

Gitmo prisoners are on a suicide watch because of the torture. Sustained torturing of a living human being is totally unacceptable. Expressing hatred by desecrating their holy book is barbaric. A civilized society such as the US should not in any way indulge in acts similar to those of the Al Qaeda whom we deplore. We are not in competition with the terrorists. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Our schools, our places of worship, our families teach us that good acts cannot be compared to bad acts.
