The Germans don't need any pause, that is what they have had for too many years now already. What Germany needs and needs badly and in a hurry is a serious dose of tax reductions. Here they should - but most likely never would - look closer at the US model as it was started under Ronald Reagan. Why? Supply side economics didn't work for the country under Reagan and they are not working for Bush.
