Donations Reduce Buffett Tax Bill
Omaha World - Herald
Aug 23, 07:33 PM

The tax bill for the estate of the late Susan Thompson Buffett will total about $95 million -- $75.4 million in federal estate taxes, $5.2 million in inheritance taxes to Douglas County and about $15 million in estate taxes to the State of Nebraska.

The payment to Douglas County is the largest in memory, but the federal bill is "middle of the road" for taxable estates, officials said.

Taxes owed on Buffett's $2.76 billion estate would have been larger, but $2.62 billion is exempt from taxes because she donated it to the Buffett Foundation and other charitable groups.

I guess Warren and his wife were not on the same page. He has said he supports the death tax.
