They raised the taxes somewhat when it could be seen that the previous cuts were too deep and took the taxation rate below the elasticity of the Laffer curve. The tax cuts as every economist now knows - except the foremost believers in some obscure socialistic ideology to whom you and Ted seem to belong - only generate higher tax revenues in a situation of over taxation at large. Be careful with Laffer and his team, John: One of his team colleges seems to be one of 4-5 top candidates for Greenspan's job :) Taro
