<<Think BIG man! Your Lexus RX is a baby SUV compared to mainstream SUVs here is US. Only "gurly men" drive Lexus RXs. -G->>

... I am ashamed. I know you are correct. But I had choices, and I decided on the least evil:

(a) Small sedan that would crush like an aluminium can

(b) Big sedan that I would find difficult to steer in very tight HK

(c) Mini van that would cause me to break a longtime promise to self ("never mini van, never ever")

(d) Small SUV (Lexus/Beemer) that would look cool at the supermarket, still manageable to steer, in at least two parking lots, and allow me to think the Toyota RAV4 driver is a gurly man (but, oops, the driver is a lady ;0/

(e) Big SUV (Landcruiser) that would be ridiculous in HK, especially at the supermarket (there are actually a few Hummers in tight HK where many architects of buildings and its parking spaces neve drove a car)

(f) Winabago - for sheer nuisance value :0) but can only be parked in my yard and never anywhere else

Good news, next year's RX will be available in hybrid form. Let them work out the bugs, and trade in when Maurice's promise 2/barrel oil materializes :0)
