Porkbusters are here! Its a bunch of people trying to identify and do something about pork barrel spending, in some cases literally in their own backyards: truthlaidbear.com The idea is for people to look into federal spending on projects in their own areas, publicly post examples of what they consider pork, contact their representatives, ask for their comments (and tell them they will be published) and publish the comments on the web page. Who knows? With a little bit of luck, and some good pr or word of mouth, they might actually influence someone in Washington. Wouldn't that be a pleasant change?
