Carter's presidency is probably ancient history for purposes of this poll. Few people vividly recall the details of his tenure. Carter is probably now most familiar to the majority of Americans for his post-presidential activities.

You have been repeatedly saying that Kerry would beat GWB by twenty points if the election were held today. Apparently not. The American people are too smart. Kerry is a mere historical footnote who can safely retain his Senate seat for as long as he wants.

I find it very interesting that Clinton would beat GWB by only two points. The fact that Reagan would beat GWB by thirty-nine points suggests that the American people remain very conservative.
