"Fooled me. You certainly seem to favor gov't intervention in economics."

Then why have I taken heat over so many posts for criticising Government involvement in funding private Corporations?

Maybe you are fooling yourself.

I have espoused my values clearly on SI. I support a pragmatic agreement by citizens to find ways and means to narrow the problems of extreme poverty, homelessness, sickness, and hunger. When people make a social contract it is Capitalistic and it is Democratic.

It is also self interest because poverty, hunger, and disease promote crime, revolution, hatred, and polarization.

Government is (or ought to be) a tool of the people. If the people are mature enough to choose to live with human values for their own self benefit and for the benefit of humanity...then the task and the mandate of Government is to facilitate that. Your country and mine both have what is called "mixed economies". This means that citizens have voted to allow a certain degree of humanity to be expressed through their collective will and administered through Government programs. It has nothing to do with Communism and it has nothing to do with Socialism. It has to do with people getting their head out of their ass and figuring out what is in their self interest.
