Perr capita debt isn't the relevant figure, the total is. This is your statement and no doubt you can find some economists supporting that. But it's a highly controversial issue and I believe I could find a hell of a lot more economists claiming that the total is more relevant. Don't forget that the total GNP scales with the population or the sum of the "heads" so to say. So does the potential ability to pay back a loan. Or do you really believe that a $10 billion loan would impact the credit ratings of Denmark and USA to the same degree??? Taro
