What you are missing from your equation Kibby is that certain studios like Disney won't release their core movies on anything but Divx. This FORCES consumers that want to see Snow White to buy the Divx machine. Satellite and cable coexist because they can offer nearly identical programming, and most people don't have both in their homes. People with DVD machines, however, can't watch those great Disney animated features that their kids so desperately want to watch over and over again. So they will have to buy a Divx player or continue to use VHS. It is the fact that certain content will ONLY be available on Divx that makes this thing so divisive, and takes it beyond being just a "player" issue. And it hurts DVD in the short term.
