I think the USD gets a temporary reprieve. I think October 22 is the significant date.

I don't believe that the vote in Germany is in any way of significant concern. Schroeder brought the reforms that otherwise would have never happened as can be seen from the results at the polls. As long as he is involved in the next government, I feel very confident in Germany's future.
