That is the earliest I've ever heard of. But, they are going to need it. There are a lot of people who live between Galveston and Houston along I45. I just realized I've been calling it I10 all this time, sorry. The problem is that most of the evacuation routes become unusable with a 5 foot storm surge. And that can happen 24 hours or more before a Cat. 5 makes landfall.

All of that area is very low. It was low to begin with, but between rising sea level and subsidence, it has gotten worse. The slope is very slight, elevation rises about 1 foot per mile on the average. So everything is in danger.

I suppose if it goes in there, we will get at least some of it. Bryan/College Station is far enough in land that the biggest concern is tornados and wind damage. I'd hate that...

I guess I better fill up. This could shut down a lot of refinery capacity.
