I thought the biggest greenhouse gas was water vapor?

I'm still unpersuaded by the whole story and will remain so until somebody can explain to me why Europe was warmer 1000 years ago than it is today, and why it got colder then (starting about 1750) warmer again. The global warming proponents always seem to ignore the natural history of climate change, as if change per se were an argument for global warming.
