REALITY INTRUDES

The day brightened when his new lawyer appeared. He thought of her as his Last Chance Lawyer. In the small room alloted for conversation, he appraised her. Falling far short of attractive, she was the brusque, bushy eyebrowed, mannishly groomed, good teeth, direct gaze type.
Her name was HOPE.
