feeling more and more like schmucks and dupes so true!! as far as stocks losing all value...yet another lesson in not having ones assets too highly concentrated in one investment vehicle... The problem with that is that you have no choice with deferred stock and options. We own no airlines stock personally and thankfully, we cashed out immediately whenever anything vested, but much is out of our hands until retirement. Watching my son, I think the whole approach has changed regarding employers. His generation doesn't want promises of future benefits. They want it now, and they want to control it. They also are so much more mobile, staying only a couple of years in each job.
