It's no myth. I've detailed my cuts here many times. We have twice as many federal departments as we need. Government worker pensions are a joke. Social security is a fraud. Dept of Ed does nothing. Homeland security dept is a boondoggle. We literally spend billions on ridiculous little stuff like statues, art, public broadcasting, decorations and pr flacks. We have needless public works projects like the Big Dig which are so poorly managed, billions are literally flushed away. We have massive pork like the agriculture bill, the transportation bill and numerous other corporate welfare programs. We have useless federal agencies that do the same things as state agencies do. We have spending on pc issues, indian reservations, innumerable useless studies, grants, foreign aid, disaster relief budgets that haven't even been itemized, Amtrack, and Africa AIDS funding. We have the richest institutions with their half trillion dollar endowments, filing as tax exempt organizations. And then we have the massive dept of HHS, whose budget has increased to over 600 billion, five times the rate of inflation. All these things without a single mention of the military.
I don't care what the hack politicians say, from either party. Our federal budget is a national joke. |
