Dig Deep, There's Gold in Them There Nostrils!
Maybe those nerds back in high school were on to something. According to Prof Dr Friedrich Bischinger of Austria, people who pick their nose have the right idea when it comes to proper nasal hygiene. The good doctor's outlandish theory also includes this little nugget of advice… eating the dried remains found on your finger after a good dig makes perfect sense and is actually good for your body. According to Dr. Bischinger, when the bacteria in the boogers reach the eater's intestines, it works as medicine giving your immune system a much-needed boost. Though his hypothesis may look good on paper (or under a desk), it has yet to be embraced by the rest of the medical community. When asked if eating boogers was a healthy practice, four out of five doctors replied, "No, it's snot."
