Precisely! Kerry couldn't afford to be "stronger" on those issues for, had he be stronger on them, he'd have lost by an even wider margin... Flyover America ain't liberal --it's anti-gay, pro-gun, anti-Arab/Muslim, pro-militia, pro-Minuteman, pro-life, and pro-theocracy. Stand against all these and you'll sway --as a US pol running for office-- San Fransisco, San Diego, NYC, Boston, and a few other dens of liberal "iniquity"... It doesn't take the brains of a Karl Rove to figure out that you'll never win nationwide with a leftist/liberal agenda.
