Indeed -- although Edison was a genius engineer scientist, he was hindered by his total lack of business acumen.

The remains of his Edison General Electric Company did not become a financial success until the General Electric Corporation dropped "Edison" from their name and was taken over by attorneys, financial types, and "managers". Today General Electric is a genuine success.

Yet another example which contradicts your hypothesis of how the world works.
