What's interesting is that here we are, big storm coming, and all the action has been with extraordinarily competent local officials. No FEMA doing evacuations. In fact, nobody has even suggested that FEMA should be doing evacuations.

What's with that? Only a few weeks ago, people were raising hell because FEMA wasn't there before the storm. Now, nobody is calling for FEMA to be involved. What are they doing? Prepositioning stuff. Just like they did for Katrina.

Didn't FEMA learn ANYTHING? Aren't they supposed to be driving into Houston while everyone else is driving out? Shouldn't FEMA be sitting on the beach at Surfside -- where there is not so much as a single structure capable of withstanding a direct hit? No FEMA in Galveston?

I don't know. Seems strange to me. FEMA, the first responders, are nowhere to be found.
