Thanks Rudi,

We are not evacuating. Everything important from our bay home has been removed and if it goes entirely all is insured, including the contents. We finished our new bulkhead this spring and hoping it will help with this hurricane. We expect that we will lose it with this kind of winds and walls of water expected.

As related to Houston, we feel we are safe in our home and one of our daughters is coming over to stay with us, as she doesn't want to stay in her home. The only thing we fear is that our neighbors to our left have a forest in their front yard and may have trees that go down. We have prepared as best we can and our city is ready to pick up everything as soon as the hurricane is over. Our city officials are really on top of everything and have done all in their power to make sure people are safe. Our Police Dept. is already calling in officers to watch for looting for those that have evacuated and said all will be prosecuted if caught looting, of any kind. I am sure you have seen the exodus of people leaving and how long it is taking for them to go even a few miles. Shortages of gasoline are happening all over the city, but we took care of filling tanks days ago. If we should have a tornadoes, we have a basement to retreat to. I also have a huge amount of candles and enough batteries to take care of the flashlights which have all been checked.

As long as we have electricity I will continue to post if I can as things develop. We will be saying our prayers that things will not be too bad for us and hoping our prayers will be quickly answered.
