The Mayor of Galveston is saying that he's had 85% compliance with his mandatory evacuation notice. Notwithstanding its seawall, its seems to me that Galveston is much more vulnerable than NO was. Why are people not leaving? A death wish? And why are they only contra-versing one freeway out of Houston......the one going west to Dallas? Why not to the north and south as well in order to facilitate and expedite the people getting out of the city. Then, if they want, they can head west. Heading south would take them to Corpus Christi which is closer, I think, than Dallas. Just curious. ted
