GLENVIEW, Ill., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ via Individual Inc. -- Addressing the
needs of the custom-installation home theater market, Zenith Electronics
Corporation (NYSE: ZE) and Runco International have agreed to jointly
promote front- projection monitors based on Zenith's HD-ready Pro900X.

Under a new joint marketing and co-branding program, Runco will market a
version of Zenith's Pro900X, customized for high-end home theater
applications. The product, model DTV-852, will carry both Runco and Zenith
brand names.

"As a valued OEM customer of ours -- and such a major force in the category
-- Runco will help Zenith address the high-end home theater market, " said
Gregg Gronowski, Zenith division vice president, commercial products. Sam
Runco, chief executive officer of Runco International, said the program
"builds on a decade-long relationship between our two companies and
capitalizes on our respective strengths in projection technology and
marketing."

Runco purchases Pro900X projectors from Zenith, and customizes the units for
high-end home theater applications by adding a custom internal line doubler
and dithering circuit to reduce scan line visibility, adding 10 memory
presets for aspect ratio control and switchable scan rates, and makes
significant modifications to the internal user menu. Runco sells the
upgraded unit as the DTV-852.

The Zenith Pro900X carries a suggested retail price of $12,600, while the
Runco DTV-852, with its feature enhancements, sells for $14,999. Zenith has
been an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for Runco for more than a
decade, supplying the company with its Pro851-series, as well as its latest
HD-ready Pro900X.

The Pro900X and DTV-852 both feature a 15- to 50-kilo-hertz horizontal scan
frequency and RGB video, RS-232 and S-video inputs. Both units are capable
of displaying conventional TV signals from NTSC, multi-standard PAL and NTSC
4.43 formats, as well as VGA, SVGA and, with the addition of a digital
decoder/demodulator, high-definition television (HDTV). The DTV-852 also
supports SECAM and is CE-approved in Europe.

Zenith Electronics Corporation is one of the largest television
manufacturers in North America. Based in Glenview, Ill., the company also is
a major supplier of systems for the cable TV and telecommunications
industries, and is a primary developer of the U.S. standard for HDTV.

Runco International produces state-of-the-art front-projection televisions
and video processors for the consumer market. Runco was first to introduce
to the home theater market a multiple aspect ratio controller to accommodate
the wide variety of film aspect ratios reproduced on widescreen laser discs.
Runco also was the first company in the video industry to market a line
doubler with a multi-frequency projector in the early 1990s.
