Knives are another matter. They can slice bread, cut bologna, lance a pustule...myriad uses. But when one removes the bullets from a gun one is hard pressed to imagine any use for the thing. Book ends? Well, perhaps.

"Guns don't kill people--people do" is perhaps one of the most inane slogans I have stoically endured in my lifetime.

It should be "GUNS kill people." Some people just should not be breathing the same air as the rest of us. There is no need to pretend that people advocate gun ownership because they make good book ends or can be used to stir stew. Because without the bullets--guns don't have any bloody use whatsoever.

It is lawful to kill people under certain circumstances. People should never be killed unlawfully, it goes without saying.
