Yes our house sits up high and we do have several radios which we can run on batteries. We have bottled water and ice and will fill the bathtubs tomorrow morning. Our bad weather is supposed to begin tomorrow evening and we are now being told the hurricane is possibly going across the Texas Louisiana border. If that occurs we will be on the better side of it and that may help us tremendously.

With all of the information coming out, my husband did rearrange the garage so that my car would fit in along with a lot of things from our bay house on Galveston Bay in Seabrook, Tx. Otherwise, it would have taken an Act of Congress for him to do that so I am thankful. We have prepared for the worst, but hoping for the best as the news about Rita seems to be changing with each new report from the National Weather Service.

Our daughter got her house boarded up, her burglar alarm set and arrived this evening worn out and ready to go to bed.
She said her house was boarded up like a fortress and all the covers were screwed into the house. She also brought her cat and dog and they are safe out in the laundry room out in the garage. They are outside animals but we do not have a fenced yard as she does, but they will be comfortable and taken out tomorrow to exercise on their leaches. If the weather gets too bad, I probably won't be able to leave them out there and will bring them in the house and hope for the best with my three inside cats. That should be fun.

We enjoyed our dinner at home tonight, especially since I have not cooked in many moons. My husband asked me if I remembered how to prepare it as he says if he wants to hide anything from me he puts it in the oven cause I never open it to look. I did look tonight and didn't find a thing but the broiler in there.

Yes I will keep y'all informed as long as my computer is on line. I hope we don't lose power too quickly. All of our utility lines are underground except the telephone and cable lines across the back. Every one of us have cell phones and if necessary we will use them to keep in contact with the rest of our family.
