Re: Reminds me of my "friends", the ANC, who continually attribute any problem in SA to the apartheid regime -- which went out of power over ten years ago.

There you go again! You can't compare the transient 8-year tenure of a US President with the apartheid regime... The latter, like the Communist regime enforced upon Poland, East Germany, etc or like Jim Crow in Southern US, has left deep scars and wounds in the body social that just can't be overcome in ten or even 20 years --especially if it has not been completely removed.

As for Clinton being "tolerant of gays and blacks"... huh?! The only black guy who was prominent in Clinton's entourage was Vernon Jordan, now a banker with Lazard and a Bilderberger. As far as gays are concerned, I don't think they waited for Clinton to push their agenda. I think that what the conservative, religious crowd didn't forgive Clinton for was not so much his pro-gay, pro-black leanings as his ANTI-rightwing moves --remember the Waco crisis. Remember the OKC bombing: the Clinton administration did nothing to cover up the fact that what was then the worst terrorist attack in the US ever had been perpetrated by white militia racist nuts (McVeigh and co). Even today, there are conspiracy theorists bent on whitewashing the "angry-white-male" and blaming bin laden for the OKC atrocity....
