The mayor of Galveston was just saying just now that they may have to open a shelter tomorrow. Apparently, Rita may have done another jog.........this time more towards the west than NW and the mayor is worried. She is saying that roads are so filled with traffic that its too late for people to leave the island which is rather scary.

Galveston/Houston must have realized a 90% evacuation rate because I have never seen traffic is so messed up as it was today and tonite. It took people 10 hours to go 12 miles. That's what some people are claiming.

And they said tonite that 100 security checkers did not show up for work at the Houstan airport today. That meant it took people forever to get through security. They said every plane left 100% full......no slacker tourists staying in Houston. They learned their lesson from Katrina.

Are you all hunkered down?
