Well, it may be too soon to declare a winner in this "Who will dominate" competition, but LHSPF certainly has just taken a large lead. IBM won't dominate because of who it is, and Dragon Dictate will almost have to find a powerful partner now.

It's interesting to look back at the clues. The close ties with Microsoft were rumored even last year, the management buying back shares, announced a few months ago, the steady climb recently on no particular news. The only thing I missed was the timing - both from LHSPF and MSFT hinting that this would be announced at Comdex. Just last night, looked at Dec calls, thinking they would be cheap up around a strike price of 45, but not so - lots of others were apparently thinking the same, and those prices weren't particularly attractive. Another clue, I guess, that the MSFT deal had a lot of credibility.

When to sell? Let your winners run is the operative strategy for now, I think! <GGG>

I think the pressure will be on fonix now even more to take most any deal they can get.
