SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 1997--Alpha Pro Tech, Ltd. (OTC:APTD) announced today that Chicopee, Inc., the exclusive marketing and distribution channel in North America for Chix(R) Aqua Trak Black(TM), Alpha Pro Tech's anti-slip disposable shoe covers for the food service industry, has reached an agreement for a national listing with Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY).
As part of the listing, Chix Aqua Trak Black protective shoe cover has been allotted a SUPC Number (7153075) by Sysco to help facilitate the buying process. Sysco branches in Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland and Michigan have already placed orders. The shoe cover will also be stocked in Sysco's corporate warehouse to facilitate product availability for 69 distributor operating companies. Sysco will feature the Chix Aqua Trak Black shoe cover in its health and safety program, which will be launched in January of 1998.
Sysco Corp. is the largest marketer and distributor of food service products in North America. Operating from 69 distribution facilities, the company provides products and services to approximately 260,000 restaurants, hotels, schools, hospitals, retirement homes and other food service operations. Sysco's distribution network extends throughout the entire continental United States and Alaska, as well as to parts of Canada.
