My post was about dull, robotic thinking in the sense that the political opinions and personal goals of the young soldiers in the families I knew had changed. All of a sudden their buddies in the military, and supporting the military in general, right or wrong, were more important than the people who had been in their lives for a long time. One of the necessary goals of robotic thinking in the military is sublimating the individual and making the group the most important thing. This is what I was talking about, not dull robotic thinking while actually performing military tasks. The military would not be functional unless this conditioning took place, in my opinion.
