I have friends in Florida too and I agree they have been well prepared, as well as Texas and have dealt with more than their share this year. I cannot say that our Mayor didn't observe what happened in Florida or Louisiana and make his decisions after, and I think Governor Bush and Governor Perry along with our Mayor tried to work out the best solution for all of our people. We don't have a levy to contend with, and in the 1900 storm here we lost many, many people. Galveston built a seawall and raised their sea level after that. Who knows how long that will work when we are now having swells of 25 to 30 feet rushing across land areas. No doubt, they will consider that to see if that needs to be corrected too. I surely hope so.
