LB, When I worked for Boeing Computer Services in Seattle I had a neighbor who worked for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. I felt sorry for him - he worked on landing gear. He spent 7 years of his life on a team designing and re-designing nose gear for a single airframe. The amount of engineering and test on these things is hard to believe. Airbus will get it right - or as their fleet ages - they will go the way of the de Havilland Comet. Don't remember them? They were big in the 50's, but their aircraft had a nasty habit of breaking up. John
