So if the matter is so trivial, would it kill the NYT to offer a correction?

One of these days there will surely be the need for serious level corrections at one of the major newspapers in the country. Right now this is all about the smallest level nit picking.

So some folk are all worked up over the proper use of the word "nudge." That Calame should even think about the issue, let alone publish something is suspicious, at best.

As for the Times correction issue, my guess is that could have been done had not Geraldo gone ballistic. If the Times prints some sort of correction in the face of his ego driven threats over this minor an issue, they open themselves up to a flood of such threats.

As for Calame and Okrent "wrapped up in hate" for their employer, it beats me why you would think that. Care to elaborate? Do you think they are?

Now if you are talking about yourself, it fits. You spend about half your time here writing angry posts about "nudges" in the New York Times. Sounds like anger, perhaps even hate. Surely in a political culture which tries to redefine any soft or hard criticism of Bush administration policies as "hate," getting all worked up over "nudges", gets into the classification scheme.

Surely there are better things to do with your life.
