Kind of "proof" is that my broker does not include it on 1099.<< My memory is that Canada's withholding was implemented after 1/1/2005. If your 1099 is for tax yr 2004, it would not be proof. In any event what we seem to need is an opinion, or better yet a ruling, from US-IRS. jrzy
