Rita severely damages Chevron's Typhoon platform Mon Sep 26, 2005 08:12 AM ET NEW YORK, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Chevron Corp. (CVX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Monday said its Typhoon tension leg platform in the waters off New Orleans was severed from its mooring and suffered severe damage during Hurricane Rita. The company also said reports of a gas leak near its Henry Hub facility in southwestern Louisiana were investigated. It said two separate releases of natural gas were located but they did not originate from Chevron's facilities.
