Sounds like the old excuse that gas is so high because of the environmentalist policies creating so much red tape for new refineries. If that was the problem, then oil companies should have started building new refineries sooner rather than later (or not at all). Just another lame excuse to justify high prices and market control. Sure would be interesting to see how many new refineries have been held up in the last five years due to red tape. Should be quite a few partially completed languishing in the epa maze. Funny I haven't heard of any.
