Many of the poor whom you're mocking have worked twice as hard as you have ever considered

How do you know this?

Because I've seen them work. Those would be the women in sweat shops sewing clothes, or the people who clean your office building at nite while you are home with your family eating dinner, or the guys who throw the hot tar on the roof when its 95º out and 120º on that roof, or the guy who washes the dishes at that restaurant at which you like to eat.

Those are the faceless poor that you never ever see, let alone talk to. They live in homes that you wouldn't have lived in when you were twenty and just starting out. They lose all their teeth by the age of fifty 'cause there's no dental when you sew cloths and they tend to be physically incapacitated by the time they hit 65 because of the abuse their bodies have taken over the years. Most of them have worked very hard so they don't have to take a handout from anyone including the gov't. Those are the poor I have seen.

Or is this just hyperbole to make a point? This is just more Punitive Liberalism from you.

Its the poor who are getting punished, not you.
