have been enjoying reading about the team's games and the tailgate party. sounds like the season is off to a great start.

for the past few days, i've been going out in search of salamanders -- and finding quite a few. you carefully turn logs in ideal habitat and if you're lucky, you find the herpetological equivalent of hidden treasure -- turquoise, opals, amethysts... (o:

of course, when you're turning logs, you come across other inhabitants as well... (i think this is where we lose dusty if we haven't already.. <g>) all were calm and very easy to photograph, but then i'm calm and give them no reason to mind having their portraits taken. here's one that you've probably heard many times, but I'll be you may never have seen. big voice for such a tiny frog -- it is small enough that it can sit on a quarter, or maybe even a nickle. pbase.com and these are on the move into the woodlands looking for a good place to hibernate... pbase.com
