sounds like the season is off to a great start.
also sounds like we're all busy in our own ways...
for the past few days, i've been going out
in search of salamanders -- and finding quite a few.
you carefully turn logs in ideal habitat
and if you're lucky,
you find the herpetological equivalent
of hidden treasure -- turquoise, opals, amethysts... (o:

of course, when you're turning logs, you come across
other inhabitants as well... (i think this is where
we lose dusty if we haven't already.. <g>)
all were calm and very easy to photograph,
but then i'm calm and give them no reason to mind
having their portraits taken. (-:

here's one that you've probably heard many times,
but I'll be you may never have seen.
big voice for such a tiny frog -- it is small enough
that it can sit on a quarter, or maybe even a nickle.
