OK...SNS......wonderful idea......I'll start with my idea of a good book......lol The Pelopponnesian War, by Donald Kagan.......a modern update....and expansion on....Thucydides...IMHO a fascinating read..... I admit some bias in pushing this......I've long been an ancient history "nut"....Also, the final denouement....the slaughter of the haughty Athenians as they recoiled in defeat from Syracuse.....took place in the little river at the foot of my own ancestral Sicilian hometown...Noto...ancient Neetum...overlooking the Ionian Sea just outside Syracuse.. Gripping drama...........and I hope not TOO out of place as the first entry in this new thread....
