James as posted, Heidelberg stated they are making 4 presses a day and intend to increase this number....Most are being shipped outside the US. Personally, I do not believe that Presstek will even need Heidelberg within the next couple of years.......

If other manufacturers add PEARL technology to their existing press lines, I would expect that Heidelberg will then represent only a small percentage of total Presstek revenue.

Also, I am very excited with the printers reaction regarding the Matchprint proofer as compared to the Kodak Approval proofing system. A group of 5 printers were discussing the two and agreed with the statement one made.... "Why would anyone buy the Kodak Approval when this proofer (Matchprint) is available". (The proofers image Presstek plates.)

It's the plates Jimmy......The big $$$$$$ (bucks) are in the plates!
Catalina Technology which has been installed at the new Presstek manufacturing plant will be functional soon, providing cost reduction for the plate making process with high profit margins to Presstek.

As these new plates are directly profitable now, as they will provide huge savings to the conventional printer, we will see tens of thousands of EXISTING presses and platesetters imaging with processless plates.

I expect Presstek to obtain the lions share of this market.
