Any crime can be explained away in terms of "not as bad as ..." Your argument is founded on the notion that Saddam with America's support did worse things. Maybe so, maybe not. Maybe the circumstances were different, maybe the circumstances make no difference. It doesn't matter to me.

What he did after the Cold War is more than enough to justify his removal.
