I shake mine in a grocery sack too - gets everything covered just right. I have tried dipping it in buttermilk, lemon juice, and regular milk. I do like the b-milk. Will try the egg, too. It has been a long time since I made fried chicken, so I look forward to doing it when my kitchen is finished. I think my mother put it in a hot pan, turned it often, then lowered the temperature for slow cooking.
