coug,

i was wondering the same thing about dylan last night while watching the show. i had this fantasy in my head going of him getting in front of the camera and becoming vocal. i even let this fantasy play out two or three ways. in one he said, "I don't care if you kill me I am taking you down". in another he was just another voice in a chorus of dissent.

after the fantasy in my head ended i realized that he sang his timeless songs and we each were allowed to interpret them our own way. and that is what he was telling us if we just listened.

he said if you are looking at me you are looking at you.

i missed a lot of what he said. i think he is right. its a personal job and if each of us was as vocal as he is then the shit would go away forever. imagine twenty million bob dylans.

but we still want someone to do the work for us.

he already did. its our turn.

i have no axe to grind with him. i love his words. i am glad he wrote them. whether or not he wrote them.
